Revitalize dull, sluggish, stressed, and damaged skin depleted by the sun, air, wind pollutants, allergens, toxins, improper diet, and smoking.
4% Pure Retinol Peel is PCA SKIN®’s innovation. For skin in need of rejuvenation, this retinoid peel smooths, brightens, and evens skin tone through increased cell turnover and peeling. This staple, professional retinoid treatment returns the skin to optimal function, and its results and peeling are dramatic. Essentially, it is a powerful retinoid peel.
Day 1:
The skin will feel dry and tight, which is normal. The skin may feel hot, feverish, and itchy and you may experience some mild discomfort.
Apply Hydrocortisone 1% if needed to reduce redness and irritation.
It is prevalent for the skin to swell through the first night. This reaction is also normal. Swelling may occur as the skin’s tissue has been disturbed. The application of a cool compress for the first 24 hours may be helpful.
Day 2:
The skin will look and feel dry and tight, similar to day 1. In some cases, the skin may deepen in color. Use recommended skincare regimen (PCA post peel kit or an Intense Moisturizer such as Elta intense moisturizer, Intense Recovery, or Aquaphor) throughout the day to keep the skin lubricated. It is critical to avoid the sun and not pick or remove excess skin, which may lead to hyperpigmentation and scarring.
During this time, your skin will gradually begin to slough. The amount of sloughing varies depending on the professional exfoliation treatment, home care products, and skin conditions.
After one week:
The skin may peel lightly again, looking somewhat similar to facial dandruff. This reaction is normal. To remedy this problem, you may want to have a simple moisturizing facial or reapply moisturizer to the skin throughout the day.
After two weeks: A home-care program should be started again. It should include the use of HQRA, Retin A, AHAs, and/or vitamin C, and most of all, sunscreen.
