Fruit & Veggie Smoothie Recipe

I am looking for a way to get more veggies into your life? Try this flavorful fruit and veggie smoothie recipe for breakfast and feel the zing all day long.

You need

  • Half a cup of mango juice
  • One cup of coconut water
  • Two large green apples, cored and chopped
  • Half a cup of frozen mango chunks
  • Two cups red leaf or romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup of avocado
  • 2/3 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro (as this is quite strong, you might want to use less if you’re not a fan)
  • Four teaspoons of lemon juice
  • Two small pieces of peeled fresh turmeric
  • Five or six large ice cubes

What to do

Add the coconut water and mango juice to a blender first, then add the remaining ingredients. Blend everything in a high-speed setting until smooth. It can be a little tart, so you can add sweetener to taste. The leftovers will keep well in the fridge (in an airtight container) for up to 24 hours.

Yoga moves you can do at work without attracting attention

Sitting at a desk all day long isn’t good for us. If you’re starting to feel achy and fidgety, but it’s hours until you can go home and more days before you can get a massage, try some of these desk-based yoga moves to release that tension until home time.

Seated Backbend

Sit up, keeping your spine straight. Take a deep breath and reach as far as you can toward the ceiling with your arms open wide. Breathe and look behind you as you bend slightly from your upper back and chest. Hold this pose for a few seconds, let your arms fall back to your sides, then repeat a few times.

Seated Twist

Sit in a chair, making sure your spine is nice and straight. Breathe in, then twist to one side from the bottom of your spine while holding onto your arms rest as you breathe out. Hold the pose as you breathe for a few more seconds, then stretch the other side.

Desk Shoulder Opener

Stand a few feet from your desk, and drop your head between your arms to achieve a good shoulder stretch. This balances out the hunching you get when sitting over a desk all day and helps get your shoulders back into proper alignment.
